Re-release of You Do You by Raw. I am Raw Proof. Raw is a big homie of mine that transitioned this past February. I wanted to put this music back on my bandcamp page and make it available for download because I feel that he would appreciate if I kept pushing his music. My friend was born into some horrible circumstances such as poverty, drug addiction and other traumatic experiences I won't get into.

His entire life he kept a good heart toward the people that were respectful and showed kindness or loyalty to him. He gave me a place to stay when I did not have one. Raw would later become a charismatic icon in the streets of Ashville, NC - Newark, New Jersey - and Middle Tennessee. He was a golden gloves boxer that left the sport alone and pursued more nefarious activities like selling drugs.

Mom was part of a touring Gospel choir and he reflected on how being in the womb while she traveled state to state singing hymns must have prepped him to fall in love with music. Later in Life he would do a 180 and take the role of a religious teacher while simultaneously saying goodbye to the street life. His ability to create a chorus that would stick with the listener for weeks to come is truly remarkable. His creative process consisted of listening to the music and what appeared to be staring at the wall. He indeed was not staring at the wall. His eyes would remain closed while he waited for a higher power to tell him what to say.
